With a new focus on feminism today, have sexual expectations changed? Apparently not. More and more women are still lying about the number of people they’ve slept with, but why? Here, we find out why women lie about the amount of sexual partners they’ve had!
A French Institute of Public Opinion survey found that French people say they’ve had an average of 9.9 sex partners.
On average, men said they had 13.1 partners.
Conversely, women said they had 6.9 partners. Clearly, the women involved in the study had a lower average.
The researchers hypothesized that women tend to “round down” when it comes to the amount of people they’ve slept with. This plays into the classic idea that men are more “valuable” if they’ve had a lot of partners than women with a lot of partners.
It’s also possible that this is untrue, as women are encouraged to round down/subtract/divide, but men are encouraged to round up/add/multiply.
Have you ever really wondered why women are inclined to do this?
Are women really “damaged goods”?
What is an ideal number of partners anyway?
Women very often lie to their partners to avoid potential damage to their relationship.
Men fear they can’t compete with a woman’s experience, that her vagina won’t be as accommodating, or just plain immoral.
Women are also sometimes judged by medical professionals, especially gynecologists or pharmacists.
Women who are religious feel like they’re sinning or being hypocrites.
However, one of the benefits of feminism is that women are getting more comfortable with their sex agency.
The important thing is that you are being safe and enjoying yourself.
Go ahead and live your life!
