Part of being a celebrity is sitting down and giving interviews, signing autographs, and posing for pictures with fans. Many argue this is part of the game. The magazines, gossip TV shows, and the paparazzi feel they “own” the rights to publish and discuss actors and singers’ lives. They argue they would never be in a film or sell their music without the free publicity.
Their talent and hard work seem to be secondary when it comes to exploiting them. Nevertheless, the rich and famous want to have a regular life too. And part of that is being in a romantic relationship. One popular thing that couples do is exchange sexy, hot photos of themselves. Some are in barely there lingerie or fully nude. These images are personal; intended for a specific person. Yet hackers love to steal and sell photos of famous women. Here are some celebs whose photos have fallen in the hands of internet trolls.
Kate Upton is an American model and actress who is known for her amazing figure.
In 2014, her phone was hacked and photos of her naked were leaked. What made things worse is that a man later took these pics to make them part of his “art” exhibit show.
Victoria Justice was just 21 years old when a site claimed they had her nude photos.
At the time the actress and singer Tweeted, denying it was her in the photos. “These so called nudes of me are FAKE people. Let me nip this in the bud right now. *pun intended*,” wrote Justice.
Emily Ratajkowski is more than just a model with a pretty face and amazing body.
Rajatkowski calls herself a feminist and encourages women to be confident and comfortable with their bodies. The also actress says she does not feel ashamed about the leaked photos either. “I think once it’s out there, it’s out there, and I’m not sure that anyone who googles it is necessarily a criminal. I think the people that stole the photos are,” explains Rajatkowski.
McKayla Maroney was part of the Fierce Five gymnasts in the 2012 summer Olympics in London.
The über athlete sued various porn sites for posting her photos as her lawyers claimed they were taken before she turned 18. The sites using her photos were threatened with circulating child pornography.
Scarlett Johansson was one of the first celebrities who fell victim to hackers in 2011.
Johansson refused to feel bad about her nude photos. “I know my best angles. They were sent to my husband,” she said of the incident. At the time, she was married to Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds.
Mila Kunis grew up in front of North American viewers with That 70’s Show.
When her leaked photos came out the actor admitted they were hers.
Rihanna was mortified when her naked photos were leaked, particularly because her mom saw them.
“It was the worst thing that could possibly ever happen to me. I just felt like my whole privacy was taken,” she says of the incident. The photos were for her then boyfriend Chris Brown.
